SharePoint Disaster Recovery for SQL Server Administrators
Speakers: David Smith and Curtis Ruppe
“Uh-oh.” I don’t know about you, but hearing those two syllables back to back forms the central theme of most of my nightmares in my role as an administrator – whether it’s database administration, application maintenance, or system configuration. When the worst occurs, do you have a plan in place to bring your system back from its knees?
In this month’s presentation, MicroStaff IT Consultant/Instructors, David Smith and Curtis Ruppe will highlight some of the better Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) when that “uh-oh” comes from SharePoint 2010 and SQL Server 2008 R2. They’ll discuss the potential of using the SharePoint 2010 backup engine, SQL Server 2008 R2-based backups, and the relative merits of other third-party SharePoint agents. You’ll also see a live demonstration of what happens when the DB server kicks the bucket and an appropriate DRP is in place. It promises to be a unforgettable experience!
